Fast
Customers finish in about two minutes, with nothing to install. Results arrive the moment they submit.
Accurate
AI inspects the screen and the back, and a QR code proves the photo is of the phone being checked.
Developer friendly
One API call creates a check. Results come back by API or webhook.
Works in the browser
Runs in the phone’s own browser on iPhone and Android. No app, no downloads.
How it works
A mirror, a phone and two minutes.
Your customer checks their own device, guided step by step. You get verified, structured results.
01
Create a check
Call the API with your customer’s details. Send them the link yourself, or have Lustre text it to them.
02
Photograph the screen
The customer holds their phone up to a mirror. A QR code flashes on screen, proving it’s the same device.
03
Photograph the back
Then the back and camera. Cases come off, and anything that can’t is declared and noted.
04
Get the result
IMEI captured and cross-checked, damage analysed, and the result delivered by API or webhook.
What every check covers
Real devices. Real data.
Screen condition
Cracks, scratches, dead pixels and discolouration. A cracked screen protector is caught and retaken, not mistaken for a cracked screen.
Back and camera
Back glass, dents, chips and cracked camera lenses, with the visible area still checked around grips and stickers.
Device identity
IMEI captured on the device, looked up independently, and matched against the make and model you provided.
Same-device proof
The QR code shown during the photo is unique to each check, so a picture of another phone won’t pass.
Private by design
Everything around the phone is blurred before a photo is stored, and personal details are encrypted at rest.
SMS built in
Let Lustre text the link to your customer, with resends and delivery status in the API.
Clear results
Not just pass or fail.
Real phones have grips, skins and screen protectors. Lustre tells you what it could see, what it couldn’t, and why, so you can make the call.
Screen and back visible and undamaged.
An accessory that can’t be removed hides part of the back. What’s visible is undamaged.
Something couldn’t be assessed, like a case covering the whole back. Worth a human look.
Damage found, with a plain-language summary of what and where.
Built for
Wherever you need to trust a phone you can’t see.

}How does a remote phone condition check work?
You create a check with one API call, and your customer gets a link. They open it on the phone being checked, hold it up to a mirror to photograph the screen, then photograph the back. Lustre captures the IMEI, analyses the damage and sends you the result by API or webhook.
Does the customer need to install an app?
No. The check runs in the phone’s own browser on iPhone and Android, so there’s nothing to download.
How long does a check take?
Customers finish in about two minutes. The result is ready the moment they submit.
What does Lustre check?
The screen (cracks, scratches, dead pixels and discolouration), the back glass and camera lenses, and the device’s identity: the IMEI is captured on the device, looked up independently and matched against the make and model you provided.
How do you know the photos are of the right phone?
While the customer photographs the screen in a mirror, a one-time QR code flashes up on it. Reading that code in the photo proves the picture is of the phone being checked, not a photo of another device.
Who is Lustre for?
Insurers checking a phone’s condition before cover starts or when a claim comes in, and resellers and trade-in services grading devices they haven’t seen in person.
How do we integrate Lustre?
One API call creates a check and returns a link. Send it to your customer yourself, or have Lustre text it to them. Results come back by API or webhook.
How is our customers’ privacy protected?
Everything around the phone, including the customer’s face and their room, is blurred on the phone itself before the photos are uploaded. Personal details such as phone numbers are stored encrypted.
