How it works

    Create a check

    Call the API with your customer’s details. Send them the link yourself, or have Lustre text it to them.

  2. 02

    Photograph the screen

    The customer holds their phone up to a mirror. A QR code flashes on screen, proving it’s the same device.

  3. 03

    Photograph the back

    Then the back and camera. Cases come off, and anything that can’t is declared and noted.

  4. 04

    Get the result

    IMEI captured and cross-checked, damage analysed, and the result delivered by API or webhook.

What every check covers

Screen condition

Cracks, scratches, dead pixels and discolouration. A cracked screen protector is caught and retaken, not mistaken for a cracked screen.

Back and camera

Back glass, dents, chips and cracked camera lenses, with the visible area still checked around grips and stickers.

Device identity

IMEI captured on the device, looked up independently, and matched against the make and model you provided.

Same-device proof

The QR code shown during the photo is unique to each check, so a picture of another phone won’t pass.

Private by design

Everything around the phone is blurred before a photo is stored, and personal details are encrypted at rest.

SMS built in
